About Powder Coating

Powder coating application with electrostatic spray gun applying coloured powder onto aluminium architectural profiles in a spray booth

Powder coating is a dry finishing process in which finely ground thermosetting polymer powder is applied electrostatically to pre-treated metal, then cured in an oven at approximately 200°C. The heat causes the powder to melt, flow, and cross-link into a continuous, hard film typically 60–80 microns thick.

Unlike liquid paints, powder coatings contain no solvents and emit no VOCs during curing. Overspray powder is captured by the booth filter system and recycled back into production, making the process highly material-efficient. Radiant Anodisers operates dedicated powder coating lines for architectural aluminium profiles at the Behror facility.

Pre-treatment is critical to long-term performance. All profiles undergo a multi-stage chrome-free conversion coating process before powder application, ensuring strong adhesion and corrosion resistance even in coastal and industrial environments.

Features & Benefits

Zero VOC

100% solid powder — no solvents, no volatile organic compound emissions during application or curing.

Full Colour Range

RAL Classic, RAL Design, NCS, and custom colour matching. Matt, satin, gloss, metallic, and textured finishes available.

Consistent Film Build

Electrostatic application delivers 60–80 micron uniform dry film thickness. No drips, runs, or sags.

Impact & Scratch Resistance

Cross-linked thermoset film resists chipping, scratching, and fading better than conventional liquid paints.

Material Efficiency

Oversprayed powder is recovered and recycled back into production, minimising raw material waste.

Standard Compliant

AAMA 2603 (minimum 1-year weathering) and IS 2395 compliant. Chrome-free pre-treatment per EN 12206.

Applications

Architectural Aluminium

Window frames, door frames, curtain wall profiles, louvres, shopfronts, and facade cladding panels.

Structural Steel

Gates, grilles, handrails, staircases, security screens, and general structural steelwork.

Industrial Components

Equipment enclosures, control panels, brackets, cabinets, and general metal fabrications.
